Felony assault charge against Austin mother in beating case

From the story:
According to the police report filed by the school system’s public safety department, Austin’s assistant principal Celia McCoy alleges she was attacked and assaulted by one of the school’s parents, Tarlisha Wylia Ascar, on Friday, October 20 at approximately 6:40 p.m., in front of the school building, after a verbal confrontation that occurred when Ascar allegedly was late picking up her child from Austin’s after-school program.

Sources told The Crier the dispute arose when Ascar became agitated over money she allegedly owed the program for childcare.

When McCoy attempted to help calm down Ascar, Ascar allegedly took off her shoes and used them to repeatedly strike McCoy’s lips, knee, and arm, and then allegedly used McCoy’s own shoes to continue striking McCoy.

Ascar, 25, was arrested and charged with one count of felony aggravated assault and one count of misdemeanor battery, and then transported to the DeKalb jail where she spent the weekend.
